Saudi End-of-Service Award for 1 Year of Service
How much is end-of-service after 1 year? On a SAR 5,000 wage it is SAR 2,500 if the contract ends or the employer ends it, and SAR 0 if you resign.

- Ask HR in writing for your final settlement (use the claim letter). By law dues should be paid within 1 week if the employer ended the job, or 2 weeks if you did (Art. 88).
- Not paid? File a labour complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources (HRSD) online. It starts with a free friendly settlement.
- If settlement fails, the case goes to the Labour Court (via Najiz).
- Don't wait: labour claims are generally not heard after 12 months from the end of the job.

Award by monthly wage
For 1 year of service the award equals 0.5 months of wage (half a month for each of the first 5 years, a full month for each year after). If you resign before completing 2 years, you get no award.

Wage = basic salary plus fixed allowances such as housing and transport, unless your contract says otherwise. Labor Law Articles 84 and 85.

How is end-of-service calculated in Saudi Arabia?+
Half a month's wage for each of the first five years, and a full month's wage for each year after that, with partial years counted proportionally (Art. 84). If you resign, the award is reduced by length of service (Art. 85).
What do I get if I resign?+
Under 2 years: nothing. 2 to under 5 years: one third. 5 to under 10 years: two thirds. 10 years or more: the full award.
Are housing and transport included?+
The law uses the actual wage (basic plus fixed allowances), but some contracts say basic only. Choose the option that matches your contract in the calculator.
